Our Fabrics
Fabric is central to Ça Va Vertica. We are passionate about using textiles that we truly believe in.
Linen, the oldest fabric known to man.
Dating back to 8000 BC, the earliest known piece of woven clothing is made of it. Widely considered one of the most biodegradable textiles on Earth, linen protects your skin from ultraviolet rays, evaporates water, and is naturally antibacterial. It is made by weaving the inner stalk fibers of the flax plant.
Hemp, the wonder crop.
Hemp is loved & cherished by many; and for good reason. It requires little to no pesticides, aids in soil erosion with its strong and deep roots, and only takes 4 months to grow. With over 25,000 uses, it is incredibly diverse. When used for textiles, it creates a strong and durable outcome that is moisture wicking and hypoallergenic.
Cotton, preferably organic.
Cotton is one of the most widely used natural textiles today for its soft texture and natural stretch. While cotton is a renewable resource by definition, it requires a large amount of water and is often mono-cropped. As with all plants, non organic cotton involves chemicals that pollute water and soil. Organic cotton is grown from non GMO seeds and without synthetic pesticides.
